You'll know you're tasting food worthy of the most deserving taste buds, yours.

CALL ME NAE NAE

Hi. I'm the Nae Cakes Cottage Mama.

Before I created Nae Cakes Cottage, I was running a 7-figure business.

Then one day everything crashed. Facing bankruptcy and possible starvation for my kids, we visited the Cromwell Food Pantry for the first time.

As I stood between the shelves of canned food for the first time, I sobbed loudly for several minutes before I could pick up a single can.

I felt safe for the first time since my companies crashed. This food meant security for my family and myself. It meant, even if we lived on the streets, we would still have something to eat.

I was especially grateful to learn that the food I was now eating was provided by the residents of Cromwell, for the residents of Cromwell. This meant my neighbors gave this food just for me.

As snarky as people can get in the Cromwell Facebook Groups, this food means that people still care.

Nae Cakes Cottage Promise

I promised God and myself that if my family got back on our feet that we would help contribute to the Cromwell residents.

I would grow fresh fruits and vegetables. Perhaps I would bake a few things on the side.

Doubts Creep In

However, I was concerned that my backyard wasn’t big enough. I was also nervous that it might take me 5 to 7 years to get the education / practice needed and for my plants to mature to produce enough to help Cromwell residents.

The Black Krim Change

I remembered tasting a single Black Krim tomato a few years back. I realized that, until my fruit trees mature, I can offer seasonal food in the meantime that tastes better than the grocery store.

I decided to create the dreamiest Cottage Farm Stand for the caring yet salty people of Connecticut.

I didn’t want to offer food just to the needy but to those who also help the needy.

The road was more difficult than I imagined.

Keeping fruit trees alive for more than a few months was more difficult than I thought. Also, building custom, vertical garden structures without any wood working experience proved to be challenging.

Luckily, YouTube and Connecticut gardening Facebook Groups helped me every time I had a problem.

Nae Cakes Cottage is determined to release its first products in the summer of 2023
